General comments:
This was the sixth Auto Rates and Underwriting Regulation Reform (ARURR) Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) held by FSRA. The meeting was focused on engaging committee members on the revised Auto Insurance Rating and Underwriting Guidance, the Accreditation Pilot, FSRA’s Technology Transformation Project and the supervisory approach for assessments and auto insurance filings.
Filing approach
Discussion centered around FSRA’s expectations for auto insurance filings and the formatting requirements for supporting documentation for accredited and unaccredited insurers. The group discussed how the new processes for submissions and reviews would differ from FSRA’s current model.
Fairness assessments
The committee discussed the fairness assessments and the associated standards for accredited and unaccredited insurers. Discussion also touched on the appropriate length of time between fairness assessments and the timelines for the accreditation pilot and the launch of the new Supervisory Model.
TAC term limits
FSRA also discussed the conclusion of the TAC term and informed committee members that it would call for new members in January 2026.
