Welcome
The Chair welcomed TAC members to the meeting and expressed thanks for their engagement and feedback during meetings.
The Chair also thanked the members whose terms were ending, for their contributions during their tenures.
Licensing improvement initiative
FSRA made a public announcement on September 18, 2024, committing to enhancing the licensing experience for our stakeholders.
FSRA has reinforced this commitment by adding the Licensing Service Standards to its Statement of Priorities (SOP) for the 2025/2026 Fiscal Year. The SOP was published for public consultation on November 14, 2024 for comments by December 6, 2024.
Teams names guidance
FSRA presented proposed guidance for the permitted use of team names in advertising. Members were requested to submit their feedback/comments to inform FSRA’s proposed guidance that will be published for public comment.
Consumer-driven banking
FSRA presented the Committee with an overview of the framework proposed by the Federal Government and discussed the opportunities and implications for the mortgage brokering sector.
Enforcement and record keeping
FSRA presented the Committee with key observations related to non-adherence to record-keeping requirements noted during investigations and asked members for feedback on potential difficulties experienced by licensees in ensuring proper record keeping.
Next meeting
The next meeting of the committee will be on Wednesday February 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
