You are required to report any changes to your adjusting firm licence to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).
Update the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery first
You should start by reporting these changes to the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery. For details on how to report these changes, go to ServiceOntario.
You will need to submit copies of these amended documents to FSRA.
Who can make these changes?
A director, officer or partner can submit the updates to FSRA. They will need use the same email address on record with FSRA.

How to change your legal name
- Before you can report a change to your legal name to FSRA, notify the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery by filing an Articles of Amendment (Form 3 under the Business Corporations Act). To get started, go to ServiceOntario.
- If you are also adding or removing a trade name, register for a new Business Name Registration.
- Email your request along with the following documents to [email protected]:
- Articles of Amendment (Form 3)
- Business Name Registration (if applicable)
How to add or remove a trade name
- Before you can report a change to your trade name to FSRA, register your new trade name with the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and receive a new Business Name Registration. To get started, go to ServiceOntario.
- Email your request along with the new Business Name Registration to [email protected].
How to change your directors and officers or partners
- If you are a corporation, you must notify the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery by filing an Articles of Amendment (Form 3 under the Business Corporations Act). To get started, go to ServiceOntario.
- Email your request along with Articles of Amendment (for corporations) to [email protected].
How to change an individual’s name
If a partner, director or officer changes their name, they will need to provide copies of their government-issued identification to verify the requested change.
Government-issued identification includes:
- Birth certificate
- Driver’s licence
- Passport

- Government-issued identification (see chart above)

How to change your principal adjuster
Remember that the principal adjuster must already have their Full Adjuster Licence. See applying for a new adjusting firm licence for more details
