General comments:

The Chair greeted SAC members and highlighted how vital the work and support provided by SAC members is to FSRA.

The CEO thanked SAC members for attending the meeting and highlighted the importance of their work and the Executive Vice President, Property & Casualty Insurance provided opening remarks.

SAC members had a strategic conversation with the Board, highlighting important issues impacting their respective sectors and consumers in general.

These issues included changes in the sector that insurers are actively monitoring, such as auto reform implementation. SAC members also discussed wide-ranging sector risks they are monitoring and mitigating against such as rapidly changing geopolitical and economic risks around the world, supply change challenges, tariffs, technology, fraud and abuse, and auto theft.

SAC members highlighted critical success factors such as predictability, flexibility, and a good relationship with the regulator as key to the success and sustainability of the sector, as well as creating an environment where industry will continue to invest. SAC members and the Board also discussed how industry is preparing for increasing competitive pressures.

The SAC and the Board discussed how FSRA could best support effective oversight and sector growth, and SAC members indicated support for the creation of the new P&C Division.
