FSRA issues notice of proposal against Victor Ferreira

The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) has initiated enforcement action against Victor Ferreira (Ferreira).

FSRA alleges that Ferreira is not suitable to be licensed under the Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.I.8, as amended because he has demonstrated incompetence or untrustworthiness to transact insurance agency business due to his past and present conduct.

FSRA also alleges that Ferreira contravened section 3 of the Financial Professionals Title Protection Act, 2019 by using a restricted title of “Financial Advisor” without holding an approved financial advising credential.

FSRA is proposing to revoke the life and accident and sickness insurance agent licence issued to Ferreira.

Ferreira requested a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal about this proposal.
