Keeping consumers interests top of mind

The Consumer Advisory Panel, supported by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) Consumer Office, held their fourth and final meeting of the year on November 17, 2022.

During this meeting, the Panel provided input and was updated on several of FSRA’s priorities, such as:

  • The proposed credit union rule governing unclaimed deposits
  • The policy approach under the Financial Planner/ Financial Advisor Title Protection Framework
  • Mortgage Suitability Assessments
  • The recruitment process for the coming term and changes to the term of reference

The Panel serves as an advisory body to FSRA to help ensure that consumers, members and beneficiary perspectives inform FSRA’s policy and oversight activities.
