Ontario credit unions must file their amended by-laws with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).
The credit union's contact information must be included with the submission.
Amended, signed and dated by-laws must be sent to FSRA within 30 days of receiving confirmation of a by-law amendment by special resolution of a credit union's members and/or delegates (as appropriate). Failure to do so may result in a monetary penalty.
Please file amended by-laws by doing one of the following:
- uploading the amended, signed and dated by-laws via the secure portal, directed to Credit Union Transactions
- emailing the amended, signed and dated by-laws to: [email protected].
The by-law amendment must be signed by two authorized officers/directors of the credit union. A scanned copy of the signed and dated by-law amendment will be accepted by FSRA. There is no fee to file a by-law amendment.
If the by-law amendment is appropriately signed and dated, FSRA will acknowledge that it has been received by sending a confirmation by email to the contact person who is listed in the submission within five business days.
