FSRA seeking applicants for new technical advisory committee
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is seeking applicants to join a new Technical Advisory Committee for Insurance Prudential Regulation and Supervision.
The Advisory Committee will play an important role in enhancing FSRA’s regulatory efficiency and effectiveness and promoting a safe and sound provincially regulated insurance sector.
The Committee will provide expert insight and advice on key regulatory and supervisory initiatives such as new Guidance for the Insurance Prudential Supervisory Framework (IPSF).
The Committee will consist of 10 to 12 members appointed for a two-year term. FSRA is seeking applicants with executive-level or extensive experience in:
- The legal and regulatory framework for provincially regulated insurance companies;
- Insurance company operations (including compliance and risk management practices);
- Insurance company strategic management practices; and/or
- FSRA supervisory practices.
FSRA is seeking representation from, but not limited to, insurance companies, industry associations, partners, legal firms, regulatory compliance professionals, consumer advocates and risk management experts. Geographic representation and organization size will be considered.
Members will participate in at least four meetings per year, scheduled to begin in late October 2021.
