Bring consumer perspectives to financial services in Ontario
FSRA recruiting new members for its Consumer Advisory Panel
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is looking for new members to join its Consumer Advisory Panel. The Panel brings consumer perspectives to FSRA’s work as it develops policies, considers regulatory initiatives and makes decisions affecting consumers.
“Consumers are at the centre of FSRA’s work. The insights and expertise shared by the Panel help us better understand consumer needs, identify emerging challenges, and achieve fair and positive outcomes for Ontarians,” said Stephanie Appave, Director of Consumer Office and Innovation at FSRA. "We encourage individuals with diverse experience and sector backgrounds across Ontario to apply to inform FSRA’s work and strengthen consumer protection."
Panel members are appointed for an initial two-year term. They advise FSRA’s senior leadership team and Board of Directors, participate in general meetings and topic-specific working groups, and provide written submissions on FSRA’s public consultations or ongoing initiatives.
FSRA welcomes applications from individual consumers and representatives of consumer organizations. Applicants will be selected based on the experience, skills and knowledge they can contribute to the Panel, including knowledge in the sectors FSRA regulates. Collectively, members should bring perspectives that reflect Ontario’s geographic and demographic diversity. To learn more about member qualifications, responsibilities and remuneration, please see the Panel’s Terms of Reference.
