Attention principal and current adjusters: FSRA launching new process for criminal record checks on August 16

The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is changing its licensing processes for criminal record checks to ensure the processes remain up to date.

As of August 16, new licence applicants will be required to complete their criminal record checks through FSRA’s approved vendor Triton. Please note the previous launch date was August 7. It has been changed to August 16. A fee of $19.15 applies for Triton’s service.

If you are currently licensed as an insurance adjuster, you may need to complete a criminal record check after applying to renew.

FSRA will notify you if this is required after you submit the application. Monitor your email for further instructions from FSRA’s licensing team to complete the process.

Criminal record checks are part of FSRA’s rigorous licence qualification process to protect consumers by ensuring only suitable people sell or offer financial products and services in Ontario.

FSRA continues to improve our licensing services through enhanced systems and processes.
