New Life Insurance Agent applicants, and all A&S and General Insurance Agent applicants are required to have a sponsor. If you have a question about the status of your application, please speak with your sponsor.

Understanding the New Licence Application Process

FSRA’s role is to ensure that each license application is thoroughly reviewed including a suitability assessment in accordance with the provisions of the Act that you will be regulated by. This is an important step as FSRA works to protect consumers.

FSRA does not automatically approve all applications. Unsuitable applications or ones that do not meet minimum requirements are declined.

At times an application may require additional scrutiny which will take additional time. In these instances, it is assigned to a different review team.

Licence Renewals

While some renewals are processed quickly, others may require additional review or documentation. Where additional review is needed, the renewal will take longer.  Monitor your email frequently through the renewal process.
