The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is continuing to work with those we regulate to ensure financial safety, fairness and choice for consumers and members during this time of rapid change and disruption.

All Ontario licensed insurance companies are required to file the Annual Statement on Market Conduct (ASMC). On April 2, 2020, the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR) announced that the filing deadline for the 2019 ASMC had been extended to July 1, 2020 to provide you with support and flexibility during these unprecedented times.

Insurers are required to file data about their policies and practices with respect to the fair treatment of consumers. Make sure you file by the deadline – failing to do so means you will be in violation of section 101(1) of the Insurance Act and you may be subjected to regulatory action.

File your ASMC today at: Thank you to those who have already filed. CCIR members will use the data collected to understand and assess the insurance marketplace and insurer conduct in order to protect consumers better.
